If you sell milk or other products in reusable jars, you may charge a container fee to cover them. Until now, that fee only applied when someone signed up for a CSA share or herdshare. If the same customer bought a jar of milk from your shop, they paid nothing for the jar, and your farm covered the cost.
Now the container fee applies everywhere you sell that product:
Customers see the fee next to the price, like “$0.50 Jar set,” on the product page, in the cart and at checkout, so there are no surprises. Container fees don’t count toward your order minimum, and coupons don’t discount them.
On the invoice, the fee shows as its own line under the name you’ve given it, including on add-ons to a member’s CSA order.
There’s nothing new to set up. Any product that already has a container fee now charges it on these orders automatically, including orders you create for customers.
