When a member can’t use a delivery, skipping used to be their only option, and your farm lost the sale. Now they can donate it instead. They’re charged as usual (or a prepaid credit is used), and the box goes to your donation partner. If you’d rather donate the money than pack a box, you can do that too.
Members see a Donate option next to Skip on an upcoming order. It tells them which box they’re donating, the delivery date, that they’ll still be charged, and how long they have to change their mind. Donating covers their whole delivery for that day, add-ons included. At farms that don’t allow skips, members just see “Donate upcoming order.”
A donated order shows a Donated badge, and the member can undo it any time before the order cutoff. They won’t get “ready for pickup” or “delivered” messages for a box they gave away, and donated home deliveries never go on a route. Customizable boxes can be donated once they have items in them.

Some members ask you to donate for them, and some farms donate shares nobody picked up. Open the member’s order and click Donate this order. You can donate before or after the cutoff, even after the delivery date has passed, and undo it any time. Billing doesn’t change.

The order’s Adjustments history shows who donated or undid a delivery, and when.
Your harvest report has a Donated boxes row, broken out by date, location and fulfillment type, so you know how many boxes are headed to your donation partner.

Donated orders also show a Donated badge on Fulfillment → Orders and a Donated status in your orders CSV.

Some farms pack donated boxes for a food pantry. Others keep the payment as a cash donation and never pack a box. Set Pack donated orders to On or Off under Settings → Fulfillment assets, or ask the Farmhand support team to set it for you. Your harvest report, packing slips, labels, sign-out sheets and routes all follow it.

When you pack donated boxes, your site hosts and packers can tell them apart at a glance. Sign-out sheets show a Donated tag next to the member’s name and a Donated boxes total for each pickup site.

Packing slips and packing labels say DONATED, too, and everything prints in Spanish for Spanish-language farms.

You’ll be able to add your donation policy or your partner’s name, so members can see where their box is going when they choose Donate.
